LAPPING FILM is a precision abrasive designed to produce a precision finish. It combines ultra-fine grades of diamond particles, a resin bonding system and highly uniform polyester backing.
The resin bond is waterproof. Il is also onsensitive to other ordinary lubricants such as mineral spirits, alcohol, water soluble oils and most straight oils. The polyester backing provides a dense and precise yet flexible platform for the diamond abrasive. LAPPING FILM is a excellent tool for finishing applications and operations requiring close tolerance lapping or grinding.
This diamond abrasive can be theanswer when processing extremely hard materials such as : carbide and oxyde base cermets, ceramics, high hardness metals, rocks and minerals. LAPPING FILM in sheet form is generally used following application to a smooth, flat surface. Granite surface plates, flass plates and metal laps are surfaces often used. The film may be held in place by a film or water, pressure sensitive adhesiv or be various mechanical clamping devices
