The SCHAUBLIN W-type brass emergency collet is designed for safe and gentle clamping of delicate parts, while allowing full machining versatility.

As with the steel version, the body is hardened and ground, while the head remains soft, slotted, and features a central bore. It can be custom machined directly on a lathe to the desired profile – smooth bore, special shape, etc.

Key features of the brass version:

• Soft material – prevents marking or deforming fragile components
• Ideal for fragile or surface-sensitive parts
• Fully compatible with W-type collet mounting systems

Machining procedure:

• Check that the 3 retaining pins are properly positioned
• Mount and clamp the collet using standard tooling
• Machine the desired bore (drilling, turning, grinding)
• Remove the collet, take out pins, and clean thoroughly

Note: This collet maintains the elasticity of a standard version while ensuring superior protection for sensitive components.
