SCHAUBLIN W12 Emergency Collet – Type W

For standard SCHAUBLIN collet types like Type W, emergency collets are available to enable fast clamping of special diameters in urgent situations.

The collet features a hardened, ground and finished body, and a soft, slotted head with a central bore. It can be machined directly on the lathe to the desired bore: smooth, grooved, hexagonal, or custom shape.

Benefits:

• Outstanding concentricity after machining
• Same elasticity as a standard collet
• Available for all usable diameters in W-type collet systems

Machining procedure:

• Check that the 3 retaining pins are properly seated
• Clamp the collet using the standard system
• Machine the desired bore (drilling, turning, optional grinding)
• Remove collet, extract pins, clean thoroughly

Note: Brass versions are available for delicate or sensitive parts.
