SCHAUBLIN W20 Emergency Collet – Type W

For standard SCHAUBLIN collet types like Type W, emergency collets are available for fast machining of special diameters in urgent cases.

The collet has a hardened and ground body, while the head remains soft, slotted, and includes a central bore. It can be machined directly on a lathe to the required shape – smooth, notched, hexagonal, etc.

Benefits:

• Exceptional concentricity after machining
• Same elasticity as standard collets
• Available for all usable diameters in W series

Machining procedure:

• Ensure the 3 retaining pins are correctly placed
• Clamp the collet normally using your clamping system
• Machine to desired shape (drilling, turning, optionally grinding)
• Remove from spindle, take out pins, clean – ready for use

Note: Brass versions are available for delicate workpieces.
